If I Were a Cat

Have you ever wondered what its like to be a cat?
No opposable thumbs, so you can’t swing a bat.
Infants always squeezing you way too tight,
pulling your ears with all their might.
You have to meow just to get food,
which ends with your owner in a bad mood.
Just when you fall asleep in the sun,
some kids come along looking for fun.
The bright side is you fit the smallest spaces,
which makes people look in all kinds of places.
And when they find you they give lots of hugs,
but instead of arms, we sometimes prefer rugs.

The Mystery Present

Once upon a time there lived three little girls named Carley, Calisse, and McKenzie. They were sisters who lived in a cottage with their mom and dad, Shannon and Christopher. Outside the cottage it was snowing and was a little foggy. As it got later and later it got darker and darker.
Inside the cottage the family roasted beef and baked potatoes for dinner, then the sisters went to bed two hours early. The parents went to bed at the same time as the girls because they believed in Santa.
In the morning they woke up and felt like they had had a rough night because of their lumpy beds. The girls ran into their parents room and Calisse jumped on their bed until they woke up. Christopher got the video camera and they all ran into the living room.
They started to open gifts and came to a gift behind the tree. The present had no name tag so Carley and Calisse began to argue about whose present it was. Meanwhile, McKenzie was looking for the name tag and eventually found it. The present belonged to Shannon and Christopher.
Haiku

In Reading class we learned about traditional and modern haiku.
My haiku creates an image of a sloth. Here is my traditional haiku:
Clawing, climbing, slow
eating big leaves in the tree
so lazy, slow sloth
My modern haiku creates an image of a chinchila.
Sleeping all so cute
gray, black, white, eyes closed
shy chinchila dreams of being my pet.

You can’t write where you live, what city you live in, what your phone number is, and what number you are on a team or where you play. If you do then the person you are talking to online could come to your game and follow you home.
